OUR STORY
At Thrive at Work Consulting, we believe that work is possible for recent grads, people with chronic pain, chronic illness, disabilities, parents and those caregiving for aging parents or loved ones. Technology and accommodations can make workplaces more accessible for all. Employees can maintain their well-being while working.
Our mission is simple: Making work possible.
We help both individuals and organizations navigate challenges, unlock potential, and create healthier, more productive and accessible workplaces.
Whether you’re a job seeker strategizing your next move, an employee seeking solutions to reduce or prevent burnout or advocate for yourself, or a company striving to build a more accessible environment, we meet you where you are and help you grow.

Who We Are
Thrive at Work Consulting was built on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed in their work environment. With a focus on empathy, strategy, and results, we provide personalized support and practical solutions to help people and organizations thrive.
Our approach combines advocacy, coaching, and consulting—bridging the gap between individual needs and organizational goals. By understanding both perspectives, we create pathways where people feel heard and businesses see real progress.
What We Do
Job Search Strategy: Guiding job seekers with tailored tools, insights, and confidence to land opportunities that align with their strengths and fit their life circumstances.
Workplace Advocacy: Supporting employees in navigating workplace challenges, empowering individuals with accommodation solutions and helping companies create fair and accessible environments.
Organizational Consulting: Creating accessible and accommodating workplaces by providing custom accommodation solutions and well-being workshops.
Every service is designed with one goal in mind: to make work not only possible, but purposeful.
Why We Do It
We know that work is central to your identity. When people feel stuck, unseen, or unsupported at work, it impacts their well-being far beyond the office. At Thrive at Work, we believe in helping others grow—because when individuals succeed, organizations and communities do too.
Work can be challenging, but with the right guidance, it can also be transformative. We’re here to provide that guidance.
Why Us
Attorney, trained mediator, patient, job search strategist and workplace advocate.

Overcoming adversity
I have been self accommodating since I was a little girl. When low contrast prevented me from seeing what was written on the chalkboard in school, I taught myself how to interpret the squiggles. No one taught me to align reading materials under my good eye. Or tap my foot on the ground to distinguish the double images when I walked. When doctors predicted I would not do well in school or go to college and society doubted me, I worked hard to prove everyone wrong.
In college and in law school, I took classes in employment law and disability law. I balanced work, leadership roles, volunteering and managing my health.
WORK CHALLENGES
After years of bullying in childhood, I found the workplace was not much different than high school. I have experienced everything from stares to whispers to judgmental comments over my physical appearance. When I was a recent graduate, I chose to increase the font size on my computer to work more efficiently rather than squinting. I didn’t think it would be a big deal as it did not cost anything. But I was judged for it. As a result, I learned an important lesson. Say nothing. Struggle in silence.
PIVOT AFTER CHRONIC PAIN
Following 3 years of personal injury work, I returned to working as a contract attorney. After becoming a “professional patient” following chronic pain and chronic illness, I pivoted to the e-discovery field by using my employment law background and developed a framework to make career transitions in a more targeted and strategic manner. Despite debilitating pain, I worked long hours and found a way to prioritize my health.
All the while, I had been mentoring recent college grads, reviewing resumes and giving “know your rights” presentations to job seekers and teaching simple solutions to manage pain, energy and stress at work.
HR professionals typically have little to no experience with accommodations and the needs of workers with chronic pain, chronic illness or disabilities. I have lived experience and can partner with HR to bridge the gap between employers and employees.

SPEAKER AND ADVOCATE
After I developed chronic pain and was subsequently diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder, I became a patient advocate. First, I attended a patient conference in 2016. There, I connected with fellow patients. Afterwards, I organized a dinner for young adult patients. Thereafter, I became a volunteer for a local support group and planned social events. I was a speaker at the 2018 Ehlers Danlos Society Global Learning Conference.
In addition, I have attended FDA public meetings regarding chronic pain. In meetings with Congressional staffers during RLDA’s Rare Across America and Rare on Capitol Hill events, I have lobbied for legislation such as ELSA. An enthusiastic walker and aspiring runner, I walked in the IndoUS Rare (formerly ORDI) 7k race where I shared my story. I raised over $300 for CNMC’s race for every child 5k and have participated in the American Heart Association Lawyers Have Heart 5k races multiple times.

I spoke about physical well-being during the 2024 New Jersey Lawyers Assistance Program well-being week. That year, I also spoke about the need to plan careers around future health and caregiving on a panel during the VDS Professional Development Symposium at Douglass College. I was a panelist on navigating career transitions during the 2025 D.C. BarAnnual Well-Being summit. In addition, I was a guest on the Toward Well-Being podcast episode where I participated with a group of speakers sharing our hobbies.
VOLUNTEER
Volunteering and pro bono service has been part of my life since college. I volunteered at Elijah’s Promise soup kitchen during college. A week volunteering with NOLAC during law school led to a surprise appearance as an extra in a crowd scene for a tv show! Community services projects I have participated include making food at the Ronald McDonald House and Martha’s Table, packing food at food banks, and of course pro bono D.C. Bar advice and referral legal clinics at Bread for the City and immigration clinic.
WORK-LIFE BALANCE
Beyond working full-time, I have my own methods to maintain well-being.
- Morning routine – Meditate, read affirmations, light stretches or walks, read and journal.
- Bake – chronic pain and chronic illness turned me into a paleo baker!
- Art – coloring, drawing, painting, making jewelry and more
- Reading – I enjoy reading and even ran a book club for 3 years. My bookcase is a mini Barnes & Nobles.
- Nature walks – I love walking in my neighborhood and am fortunate that the County Greenway is within walking distance.
- Sudoku puzzles
- Exploring NJ – after living in the D.C. area for over a decade, I am getting reaquainted with the Garden State – hiking, street festivals, gardens, farms and more.
- I enjoy watching the sun rise, seeing rainbows and the simple things in life

I live by these two quotes:
“you are the creator of your destiny, the architect of your life” and “where there’s a will there’s a way”.
